Iraq’s Asiacell signs AI-related deals with Google, Cisco and more

Iraqi telco Asiacell announced a slew of AI-related partnerships at this week’s MWC Doha 2025 event with Google Cloud, Cisco, Enea, Evam and Druid AI, most of which are aimed at improving the customer experience.

For starters, Asiacell said on Wednesday it has partnered with Google Cloud to deliver Google Workspace and other AI-powered collaboration tools to businesses and educational institutions across Iraq, making it the first telco in Iraq to do so.

Through the partnership, Asiacell will offer Gemini Enterprise, Google Workspace, Google Workspace for Education, and other AI-driven tools such as GoogleNotebook, designed to enable organizations to communicate and collaborate more effectively.

“This collaboration with Google Cloud allows us to provide Iraqi businesses and educational institutions with reliable, secure, and future-ready productivity solutions,” said Asiacell CEO Amer Sunna in a statement. “It’s a key milestone in our mission to accelerate Iraq’s digital transformation through partnerships with the world’s leading technology providers.”

Speaking of partnerships, Asiacell also said it is partnering with Cisco to deploy the vendor’s AI-powered Provider Connectivity Assurance (PCA) platform on its networks to enhance network intelligence and reliability.

Asiacell said Cisco’s network automation and assurance platform will provide real-time, predictive insights across its connectivity and service layers, automatically detecting anomalies, diagnosing root causes, and accelerating resolution before potential problems can impact customers.

“The result will be a more agile, self-optimizing network that keeps pace with the demands of digital services and the 5G evolution,” said Asiacell CTIO Hassan El Chami.

Asiacell also revealed it has deployed Enea’s data traffic management solution to enhance subscriber quality of experience (QoE) and optimize video content. The solution provides real-time analytics for network capacity and service optimization, enabling Asiacell to boosts speeds and carry more video content efficiently.

On the customer service front, Asiacell also formed a partnership with Druid AI under which it will use Druid AI’s enterprise platform, which combines conversational and generative AI with process automation to create AI agents that provide faster, smarter, and more personalized experiences across digital channels for customers and employees in Arabic, Kurdish and English.

Asiacell also entered into a strategic partnership with real-time customer engagement specialist Evam to deliver hyper-personalized, real-time marketing across its nationwide customer base, all digital and traditional touchpoints using Evam’s engagement platform.
