Amdocs boosts LatAm business with multiple deals

Amdocs, a provider of software and services for communications and media companies, has had a busy few days with announcements of two Brazil-focused deals and one relevant to a large part of Latin America.

The latter agreement is a ten-year strategic engagement with Liberty Latin America, a leading communications company operating in over 20 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean, to manage its end-to-end IT ecosystem across its regional footprint.

Amdocs says the engagement will transform Liberty Latin America’s traditional IT operations into an AI-driven operating model designed to accelerate time to market, increase product innovation, enhance customer and employee experience, and deliver significant cost savings. Amdocs is also collaborating with Prodapt, an existing Liberty Latin America partner, to support service continuity and deliver operational transformation as part of this initiative.

Amdocs has also announced that Cielo, one of Brazil's largest payment services providers, has selected Amdocs Remote eSIM Manager to modernise and transform its nationwide payment terminal connectivity platform.

Under this engagement, Cielo will transition from a traditional SIM-based connectivity model to an intelligent, software-defined connectivity model across its fleet of payment terminals deployed throughout Brazil.

Leveraging Amdocs' eSIM Cloud Platform, the solution enables secure remote provisioning and lifecycle management of connectivity profiles, allowing devices to dynamically connect to the best available mobile network.

With the deployment of Amdocs Remote eSIM Manager, Cielo will gain advanced capabilities to manage connectivity across its payment terminal ecosystem, including eSIM lifecycle management and remote provisioning, dynamic switching between mobile network operators, real-time network quality monitoring and optimisation, intelligent connectivity orchestration for payment terminals, and secure remote activation and profile management.

And that’s not all. Amdocs says that Brazilian service provider Vivo has strengthened its strategic collaboration with Amdocs by renewing its Managed Services for Amdocs Customer Experience Suite (CES) operations, upgrading its platform to CES2X, and aligning its licensing capacity to support the continued growth of its customer base.

The initiative encompasses the evolution of the Amdocs CES platform and the modernisation of Vivo’s OSS environment, enhancing service activation, inventory and provisioning capabilities. This technology upgrade contributes to a more agile operation, delivering improvements in response times and order processing efficiency.

Amdocs adds that the migration to CES2X establishes a more modern technology foundation, better positioned to support future automation and digital transformation initiatives.
