Morocco’s Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform announced it has signed an MoU with Vertiv to develop the country’s digital infrastructure and support the government’s sovereign cloud and AI ambitions.

The MoU – which was signed on Monday – aims to establish a framework for exchange and collaboration around the development of digital infrastructure, cloud computing, AI, high-performance computing, data centres and the electrical and cooling solutions necessary for their operation.

Vertiv and the ministry agreed to exchange expertise, conduct technical studies, identify structuring projects, and explore innovative solutions adapted to Morocco's future needs.

Also on the table is discussions to develop the 50 MW sovereign data center in Rabat that the government announced in October 2025 to strengthen Morocco’s digital and cloud capabilities.

“This collaboration represents an important step in supporting Morocco’s ambition to develop resilient and future-ready digital infrastructure,” said Wojtek Piorko, MD of Vertiv Africa, in a LinkedIn post.

Minister of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni said that digital infrastructure constitutes “a key pillar” of the country’s technological sovereignty and “a decisive lever for the development of artificial intelligence, innovation, the digital economy, and the modernization of public services.”

She also said the Vertiv partnership is aligned with the implementation of the Digital Morocco 2030 strategy, the "AI Made in Morocco" roadmap, and the national roadmap for cloud development 2025-2030.

The ministry statement said Seghrouchni also held talks on Monday with Andre Biyong, chief strategy officer and deputy CEO of Cybastion, Amine Kandil, CEO of N+One Datacenters, and Kandil’s advisor Yassine Benjelloun to discuss potential cooperation along similar lines in terms of critical digital infrastructure, data centres, sovereign cloud computing, AI and high-performance computing.

Piorko also attended that discussion, along with Zineb Kamri, regional director of Vertiv for Northwest Africa, the ministry said.

In his LinkedIn post, Piorko described N+One and Cybastion as important regional partners in creating an “ecosystem of global expertise with strong local knowledge and experience.”
