Warsaw Metropolitan Police enhancing connectivity with Intracom Telecom

The Warsaw Metropolitan Police (KSP Warsaw) are expanding their DMR Simulcast system using the OmniBAS platform from Intracom Telecom.

The platform will be used as the selected microwave link for backhauling, and will be delivered in partnership with Xentia, a Polish wholesale distributor of voice, data and broadband wireless solutions for surveillance systems.

Following a tender issued by the Metropolitan Police Headquarters of Warsaw that ended on January 28th 2019, Xentia, in collaboration with Intracom Telecom, was awarded the project for the replacement of the existing analog DMR system in the suburbs of Warsaw.

Through its new OmniBAS links, Intracom Telecom will implement connectivity services for data traffic backhauling of the suburbs, along with existing traffic. The OmniBAS network, which has been running since 2015, will be further expanded as the future-proof solution for backhauling of DMR Tier II Simulcast system.

Due to the increased capacity of the solution it will be used for other services as well, such as video (CCTV surveillance), PSTD and OST-112, a project dedicated for emergency call and data transmission between Police and Fire Brigade. Moreover, the company’s already-implemented advanced and feature-rich network management system, uni|MS, will now be upgraded to the latest version in order to support the whole radio network.

Intracom Telecom’s microwave product family offers multi-Gigabit IP radio capacity supporting market-leading modulations up to 4096-QAM and channels up to 112 MHz, while at the same time enables an evolved and smooth migration to an IP/MPLS architecture. KSP Warsaw, leveraging on OmniBAS exceptional capabilities and superior performance, will enhance communication and data transfer between policemen and firemen countrywide.
