Gilat Telecom has extended the reach of its VSAT services to every African country.
Throughout the continent, a growing demand for bandwidth has prompted Gilat to boost investment in VSAT and fibre connectivity for its customers, which include mobile operators, NGOs and ISPs. The Israeli company has been active in Africa for 20 years.
The firm has sought to reduce customer capex by investing exclusively in high performance remote terminals capable of delivering data speeds of 0Mbps downlink and 15Mbps uplink. Additionally, with equipment bases in seven countries, it is able to deliver installation anywhere in the continent “within a few days”.
Seeking to address issues specific to African operators, Gilat’s SD-WAN solution for satellite traffic uses AI and machine-learning algorithms to improve traffic management and maximise bandwidth.
