Viettel’s Cambodian subsidiary Metfone made its move into the country’s fast-growing logistics sector on Tuesday with the launch of its end-to-end logistics platform, Metfone Express.
In its initial phase, Metfone Express will operate through around 1,000 service points, integrating solutions across the entire delivery process, from order acceptance, sorting and transportation to last-mile delivery. Its logistics delivery fleet includes lorries, vans, motorcycles and drones.
Metfone said the system provides 24/7 real-time shipment tracking, supports online operational management, optimises delivery routes and enhances connectivity between senders and recipients.
Metfone said the logistics platform is underpinned by its digital infrastructure and nationwide presence in all 25 provinces and cities in Cambodia.
It also brings to the table its “extensive experience in deploying large-scale digital platforms”, as well as logistics expertise and technologies developed in Vietnam by parent company Viettel Group, the telco added.
Metfone said it’s targeting the logistics market because the rapid growth of e-commerce in Cambodia is driving demand from consumers and businesses for efficient, transparent and fast end-to-end delivery solutions powered by the latest digital technologies.
Metfone Express is the company’s latest push to transform itself from a pure telco play to a more comprehensive tech and digital services company.
In March, Metfone entered the sustainable energy solutions space with the launch of its smart solar power system for households and businesses. In December 2025, the company signed a cooperation agreement with Cisco to distribute and deploy its ICT solutions to local enterprises.
“Metfone Express represents the next milestone in Metfone’s strategy to build a comprehensive digital ecosystem in Cambodia,” said Metfone CEO Cao Manh Duc in a statement. “We remain fully committed to long-term investment, the application of cutting-edge technology, and the development of smart logistics infrastructure.”
