NeutraDC Singapore – a subsidiary of Telkom Indonesia’s data centre arm NeutraDC – announced on Thursday it has signed an MoU with chipmaker AMD to implement proof-of-concepts using AMD’s Instinct accelerators and other initiatives to expand AI infrastructure in Southeast Asia.
The MoU – which was signed last month but announced publicly by NeutraDC yesterday – covers the scope from technical consulting to potential commercial applications, including a joint AI research and training program to develop AI talent and encourage the birth of AI-based product innovation.
NeutraDC Singapore CEO Sendang Praptomo said the partnership with AMD not only forms the foundation for both companies to deliver AMD technology-based services in Southeast Asia via its 29 data centres in Indonesia and Singapore, but also marks a key step in accelerating the integration of advanced AI technology in the region.
"Collaborating with AMD as a global leader in the field of high-performance computing and adaptive computing gives us the opportunity to expand access to GPU services and AI talent in the region,” he said in a statement. “Supported by the power of cloud-connect and our data centre network, we can present AI solutions closer to users and accelerate the adoption of AI that brings real changes to society.”
Keith Strier, AMD’s senior VP of global AI markets, added that the MoU reinforces AMD's commitment to expand access to high-performance AI infrastructure in Southeast Asia. “With NeutraDC, we will present the computing capabilities and expertise that organizations need to accelerate their AI strategies with more confidence," Strier said.
