Jazz virtualises subscriber data management platform with Nokia solution

Veon-owned Pakistan telco Jazz says it has successfully completed the virtualisation of its subscriber data management (SDM) platform in collaboration with Nokia as part of its network modernisation programme.

The SDM transformation – powered by Nokia’s on-premises cloud-native Subscriber Data Layer (SDL) – replaces legacy subscriber data management systems with a highly scalable and resilient architecture.

Jazz said that by modernizing its HLR and HSS infrastructure into a unified, stateless database engine, it’s eliminating architectural silos and creating a more agile and efficient subscriber data management environment.

Jazz also said the migration was completed seamlessly with zero disruption to customer services.

JazzWorld CTO Khalid Shehzad said the virtualisation of its SDM platform marks an important milestone in the telco’s transformation toward a fully cloud-native network, which is crucial as demand for digital connectivity and data-driven services continues to grow.
