Malaysian multidisciplinary real estate firm Quill Group of Companies and China Mobile International have signed an MoU to explore cooperation opportunities in green data centres and AI digital infrastructure in Malaysia.
Under the agreement signed last week, the two companies intend to explore potential projects, partnership models and customer opportunities to jointly promote green data centres and related digital infrastructure projects to meet growing demands in Malaysia for data centres to support AI workloads, cloud computing, big data and digital applications.
Quill said the partnership will combine CMI’s technical capabilities, operational experience and related digital infrastructure resources in with Quill’s experience in local project development, construction and integrated project management capabilities in Malaysia.
Quill Group founder Dr Jennifer Low said the partnership with CMI will also build on the group’s experience in developing specialised facilities for technology-related businesses, including data centres in Cyberjaya dating back to 2002.
“This MoU brings together Quill’s development experience and China Mobile International’s digital capabilities,” Low said in a statement. “We look forward to identifying practical opportunities that can create value for businesses in Malaysia.”
Quill added any specific projects or commercial arrangements that emerge from the partnership will be subject to further assessment and established via separate agreements.
