TelCables Brasil adds three new PoPs in Belo Horizonte

TelCables Brasil announced on Monday it has added three new Points of Presence (PoPs) in Belo Horizonte, the capital city of Minas Gerais state, bringing its total number of PoPs in Brazil to ten.

The new PoPs are located at three data centres in the city: Sonda, Century, and Sempre Telecom.

TelCables – a subsidiary of the Angola Cables group – said the PoPs broaden its reach in Brazil and strengthens its offering of IP transit, data transport, and interconnection services for regional ISPs, operators, data centres, and companies in Latin America requiring high-capacity connectivity.

TelCables also said its local presence allows for shorter data traffic routes and improves the performance of time-sensitive applications. The expansion also increases network resilience and redundancy, with more traffic engineering options and alternative routes.

TelCables added that it’s currently evaluating new investments in digital infrastructure in Belo Horizonte, including the future deployment of a cloud node which will bring computing and storage resources closer to end users and will further reduce application latency.
