On2 Technologies, specialist in video compression solutions, will demonstrate high-definition mobile video solutions at next week's Mobile World Congress. The company will unveil new hardware design solutions for mobile and multimedia chip-set manufacturers, demonstrate its latest mobile video software implementations, and preview its cloud transcoding service.

On2 announced the Hantro 8190, claimed to be the first high-definition hardware decoder supporting MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and H.264 for low powered chipsets, at last year's Congress; convergence of web and mobile content is a growing industry trend, and On2's technology solutions deliver customers "high-quality, low-bit-rate video with minimal processing requirements, making them ideal for mobile devices." On2's proprietary VPx codecs are used in Adobe Flash video, Sun JavaFX video, Skypevideoconferencing, and in the Move Networks web streaming solution.
