Ecuador’s Netlife deploys ZTE cloud platform for smart home service

ZTE announced on Thursday that Ecuadorian fixed broadband operator Netlife has commercially deployed its Smart Cloud Platform (SCP) to deliver enhanced smart-home network services to its customers.

ZTE said the SCP solution provides unified cloud management of home gateways and security devices to give Netlife better visualization, manageability, and intelligent operations for its smart-home network service.

While no specifics were available, ZTE said Netlife has already connected “a large number” of live CPEs to the SCP platform, and is already seen significantly improved after-sales efficiency, enhanced user satisfaction, and delivered "measurable operational benefits" across the network as a result.

ZTE added that it also developed a customized anti-theft feature for Netlife's devices as part of the partnership, and in response to Ecuador's operational requirements. The anti-theft function triggers alerts when equipment is abnormally moved or its status changes unexpectedly.

Netlife and ZTE said they are preparing to integrate IP cameras into the SCP platform as part of a broader plan to expand the current SCP server capacity to support more devices as the smart home service scales.
