Digital Edge announced on Monday it’s secured a US$665 million green loan to support development of the first phase of its planned 500MW AI-ready hyperscale data centre in Indonesia.
The green loan financing for the US$4.5 billion CGK Campus was led by BNP Paribas, Clifford Capital, Crédit Agricole CIB, DBS, Mizuho, OCBC, Bank Central Asia, and SMBC as mandated lead arrangers. Crédit Agricole CIB, DBS, and Bank Central Asia also acted as green facility coordinators.
Digital Edge said the green loan was structured under its green financing framework, and is the largest such loan ever secured for a data centre project in Indonesia. The company also said it directly supports its ambition to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.
“From empowering businesses with high performance, AI-ready digital infrastructure to advancing innovative solutions that reduce environmental impact, this financing underscores Digital Edge’s leadership in sustainable digital infrastructure,” said Digital Edge CFO Jonathan Walbridge in a statement.
The CGK Campus – first announced in January this year – will be located in the GIIC Industrial Estate in Bekasi, West Java. The facility is designed to deliver 500MW of IT capacity at full development, and can be scaled to as nuch as 1GW.
Engineered for next-generation AI workloads with resilient, energy-efficient performance, Digital Edge said the CGK Campus targets an annualised power usage effectiveness (PUE) of 1.25 and features direct-to-chip liquid cooling, recycled water systems, and renewable energy integration.
