Ethiopian Airlines Group, a leading African airline, has signed a strategic agreement with Nucore Technologies to advance its digital transformation efforts – and in particular to strengthen the services it offers via the platform it calls the Ethiopian Airlines’ Agency Portal.
Nucore, which is headquartered in India, specialises in providing software solutions for advanced back-office automation, integration, reporting and analytics capabilities to travel agencies, aggregators, and corporate customers. It has a presence in a number of countries, among them Kenya, where it is said to be a backbone of the travel technology landscape.
This collaboration, says Ethiopian Airlines, marks a significant milestone in the company’s digital transformation journey, positioning B2B as a key strategic area. It reaffirms the airline’s commitment to global industry standards and modern airline retailing, while empowering partners with seamless access to direct content through new distribution capability (NDC)-enabled distribution, enhanced data transparency via out-of-the-box integrations, and scalable digital platforms designed to support future growth. NDC is a standard for modernising airline data exchange.
Commenting on the partnership, senior executive Bilen Arefaine, whose responsibilities include digital strategy, explains: “This partnership with Nucore Technologies further strengthens our digital presence by enabling our partners to gain seamless access to Ethiopian Airlines’ direct content, including NDC-based offers, ancillary services, and hotel packages, all supported by multiple payment options through our Agency Portal.”
In partcular this partnership with Nucor Technologies is described as strengthening Ethiopian Airlines’ Agency Portal by integrating more advanced reporting and analytics capabilities.
Indeed, this portal, a robust platform designed to serve travel agencies, aggregators, and corporate customers, stands at the centre of the partnership. The platform supports more than 2,000 active customers across over 100 stations worldwide, offering extensive market reach and global coverage. It is also backed by 24/7 commercial and technical support by Ethiopian Airlines, ensuring that partners receive timely assistance to meet both operational and business needs.
