Starlink has received an operating licence from the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT), further expanding its Latin American footprint.

The Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite broadband provider has been granted a ‘Type 2 Concession for the Provision of a Public Domestic Fixed (via satellite) Telecommunications Network and Public Domestic Fixed Telecommunications Services on a National Geographic Scale’, valid for ten years.

CommsUpdate reports that the concession was issued to Starlink Internet Services Trinidad and Tobago, based in Port of Spain. The operator’s planned coverage map indicates that it will launch satellite services this month, as Trinidad and Tobago is scheduled to receive services in Q2 23.

Starlink has been licensed to operate in over 50 countries, [having procured a licence in Costa Rica last week.](https://developingtelecoms.com/telecom-technology/satellite-communications-networks/15052-starlink-gains-costa-rica-licence.html)
