Gvtele deploys Cataleya’s Orchid One in Bangladesh

Epsilon subsidiary Cataleya has been selected by Bangladeshi operator Global Voice Telecom Ltd (gvtele) to deploy its next-generation session border controller (SBC) Orchid One.

Orchid One was selected to deliver high performance intelligent networking that is ready to serve gvtele’s growing regional and global voice traffic. gvtele will use Orchid One’s guaranteed quality of service (QoS) and experience (QoE) to differentiate its offering in Bangladesh and compete on performance. Orchid One’s capacity of up to 100,000 sessions per 2RU allows gvtele to reduce its equipment footprint considerably and benefit from significant power savings.

“Bangladesh has one of the largest diaspora populations of any country in the world. This makes for a vibrant and growing international voice market. Our next-gen SBC will support the growth of gvtele and enable it to serve growing demand with high performance and intelligent networking,” says Jay Jayasimha, CEO at Cataleya. “Quality at scale is critical in the voice market and gvtele is benefiting from true end-to-end QoS and QoE that is ready to grow with its business.”

gvtele is one of few IGW licensees allowed to route incoming and outgoing calls to and from Bangladesh. gvtele provides quality International Gateway Connectivity services at competitive prices between Bangladesh and the rest of the world.

“Orchid One enables us to scale up our business while delivering even greater performance. It drives efficiency and will support our growth in the long-term,” says Md. Samiul Huq, CTO at gvtele.

Orchid One was specifically designed to enable the delivery of IP communications services and high-performance applications. It offers service providers full end-to-end QoS and QoE with visibility from the transport to applications layers, which is critical for the delivery of advanced communications services.
