Seven of the best as Connectiva expands globally

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrint

Connectiva Systems, which provides revenue and performance management solutions to the telecoms industry worldwide, has recently been awarded several multi-million dollar contracts by telecom operators globally. Developing Telecoms summarises the seven contracts involved.

Connectiva's award-winning product OneReview has recently been deployed in the following situations:

  • one of Asia's largest wireline service providers;
  • two mobile communications companies in North Africa;
  • three telecom operators in Sub Saharan Africa; and
  • a leading mobile service provider in the Middle East.

Connectiva Systems was awarded these contracts after a competitive bidding process that lasted several months. The sales wins reflect the what Connectiva describes as its leadership in revenue management solutions in the Asia Pacific, MENA (Middle East & North Africa) and the Sub-Saharan African region.

The company also announced that it will be expanding geographically and will be opening offices in Kuwait City and Singapore to serve customers better and to leverage sales momentum in the Middle East, Africa and North Asia.

"We are very pleased with the market acceptance of our solutions, and have undertaken this expansion to help us capitalise on existing and new opportunities. Furthermore, we have also doubled the headcount of our (R&D) team in Kolkata, India," said Avi Basu, CEO, Connectiva Systems, "which is indicative of our commitment to be one of the leading global software product companies."

About Connectiva Systems

Connectiva Systems makes software that allows telecom operators achieve more performance and productivity from their existing infrastructure (IT systems & BSS/OSS assets). The company has been recognised as one of the fastest growing software companies in the world today. OneReview is promoted as helping service providers improve their business and financial performance dramatically. Operators who have partnered with Connectiva to identify and recover an estimated US$200 million in revenue leakage include Bharti Televentures, the MTC Group of Companies, Wataniya Telecom, Etisalat, Cable & Wireless and Tunisiana*.

The Tunisiana* story is indicative of what is happening with telecoms operators across MENA. With growing demand for mobile services, and growing competition, telecom operators need to make sure that they capture every single cent that they are billing their customers for. The reality of the situation is that the amount of cash collected often does not equal the amount billed. This difference, which can range from 2% to 10% of an operator's annual revenue is attributed to "revenue leakage." Connectiva's OneReview solution seeks to detect, prevent and recover leaked revenue, all of which goes straight to the company's bottom line, thereby boosting shareholder values and share price.

Connectiva is also under contract with the MTC Group of Companies: operating companies in Kuwait, Iraq, Bahrain and Jordan have deployed OneReview. This programme has achieved some success, and the RoI on these projects has been substantial.

* Tunsiana's shareholders are Orascom and Wataniya Telecom (now owned by Qatar Telecom).
