Redknee Solutions Inc. announced that it has been selected by Inmarsat plc. to provide a real-time Turnkey Converged Billing solution.

In the first phase of the agreement, Redknee provides Inmarsat with a new billing functionality, which went live in November 2007, and is being offered to the subscribers of Inmarsat's Satellite Phone Services (SPS). For the second phase, Redknee is working with Inmarsat on a similar solution for the company's Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) service, the world's first mobile communications service to provide both voice and broadband data simultaneously through a single, truly portable device on a global basis. This multi-million dollar agreement represents Redknee's first entry into the global mobile satellite communications market. Redknee's billing solution provides a real-time, centralized platform to Inmarsat, leveraging their next generation of satellite-based pre-paid voice, messaging and data services while supporting Inmarsat's growth strategy of utilizing both distributor and reseller relationships.

Lucas Skoczkowski, CEO at Redknee, commented: "We are delighted to have secured this prestigious contract to provide Inmarsat with our leading Turnkey Converged Billing solution. Inmarsat is leveraging state of the art communications infrastructure to achieve its aggressive growth plans while continuing to exceed customers' expectations. Redknee's Turnkey Converged Billing solution continues to take market share in the wireless segment while being introduced to fixed, broadband and IPTV operators, further expanding our addressable market opportunity."

Michael Butler, President & COO at Inmarsat, added: "Redknee's solution allows us to strengthen and enhance our existing operations while increasing the value of our service offering to our customers. We chose the Redknee platform for its ability to seamlessly integrate with our existing CRM system and its ability to support planned new services in various configurations without interruption."

Inmarsat delivers broadband communications solutions to enterprise, exploration, maritime and aeronautical users around the globe. It operates a cluster of geostationary satellites that extend mobile phone, fax and data communications to almost every part of the world. Launched in 2007, Inmarsat's new suite of satellite phone services includes the company's first handheld, the IsatPhone. The service is initially available in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, and is accessed by a robust, sub-$500 handset. Inmarsat's SPS are undergoing a program of development and modernization, ahead of a global roll-out by the beginning of 2009.
