Redknee, a provider of business-critical software and solutions for communications service providers, has won a contract from Loop Mobile to launch its Next Generation Rating and Charging solution in order to enable innovative data applications & services.

According to industry analyst Gartner, revenues from data services will significantly contribute to mobile services in India, with a forecasted CAGR of 16.8% from 2009 to 2013. Recently rebranded from BPL Mobile, Loop Mobile has invested in Redknee’s Next Generation Rating and Charging (NGRC) solution to offer differentiated, value-added data services. Loop Mobile will be providing these services to its subscribers through Redknee’s flexible, real-time charging platform, enabling subscribers to take advantage of varying types of service packages and driving the overall adoption rate of data services.

Redknee’s NGRC solution also helps operators to minimise the impact of decreasing voice revenue by allowing them to capitalise on the explosive growth in new data services, and provides network operators the competitive advantage to rate and charge any data event in real-time. Additionally, NGRC’s policy controls determine and enforce the appropriate Quality of Service (QoS), ensuring that  subscribers receive high-quality service across any device.

“India is one of the largest and fastest growing wireless markets in the world, and service differentiation is only becoming more critical. Redknee’s Next Generation Rating and Charging solutions have been supporting some of the largest global Tier-1 operators, as well as multiple group operators, across the high-growth markets - proving that this industry recognised and patented solution creates a sustainable business advantage. We are pleased to have the opportunity to support Loop Mobile in their markets,” Lucas Skoczkowski, Redknee’s CEO, commented.

Shajil Viswanathan, VP Networks at Loop Mobile, commented: “Our emphasis on providing our customers with the best offerings and customer service has been paramount to our success so far. Our partnership with Redknee presents us with an exciting opportunity to increase the adoption and delivery of quality value-added services within our customer base to help drive subscriber satisfaction and further subscription growth.”
