Pasolink will be introduced throughout the country in support of VMS’s network. The aim is a system which will process a wide variety of transmission speeds and interfaces within the same platform, thereby facilitating mobile traffic growth, enabling a smooth transition to new 3G transmission systems and expanding mobile network coverage in Vietnam.
Pasolink’s advantages are claimed as “its ability to easily and inexpensively respond to increasing telecommunications needs, (and) handle different operating conditions such as increasing data capacities and interfaces without installing new hardware. Furthermore, an exceptional MTBF (Mean Time between Failure) of more than one hundred years, achieved through the NEC Group’s integrated production system, ensures the product’s long-term reliability.”
NEC has supplied Pasolink to nearly all the mobile operators in Vietnam, and boasts overwhelming share of the country’s ultra- compact microwave communications system market. The rapidly increasing number of mobile phone subscribers and individuals accessing mobile Internet services requires the swift creation and support of microwave communications systems and quality infrastructure.
