Datatronics deploys NewNet CT SS7 and Sigtran platform for Latin America prepaid and online charging

During 2008, Datatronics has supplied, integrated, and deployed more than 170 signaling nodes with NewNet CT's Distributed7 signalling platform in Latin America to manage pre- and postpaid services. The systems calculate the cost of the services in real-time and enable subscriber access to the services based on the subscriber's account balance.
The systems are deployed on the NewNet CT Distributed7 framework, which integrates the applications to the network signaling path using SS7 or Sigtran, enabling the necessary exchange of data to support service charging and allow or deny subscriber access to services such as voice, SMS or USSD.

NewNet CT's Distributed7 is a framework supporting rapid application development on SS7 and Sigtran Networks. The platform provides a highly distributed environment upon which high-performance, scalable, and resilient applications can be built and deployed in converged network environments, thus reducing cost and preserving investment in existing network infrastructure. To date, Distributed7 has been successfully deployed in Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Argentina. More than 170 nodes have been deployed utilising the NewNet CT Distributed7 signaling platform during 2008. Over 50 million users are already connected and benefiting from the prepaid and postpaid services developed on NewNet CT's Distributed7.

"...prepaid and postpaid services are growing quickly in the Latin America region and operators need a proven, highly scalable solution to support that growth. We selected Distributed7 after a comprehensive certification process. We have worked tightly with the operators providing all the professional services needed to do the integration and deployments successfully," said Oscar Gonzalez, VP Sales & Business Development at Datatronics Telecom.
