With the growth of an increasingly competitive environment, every aspect of an ICT operators’ business faces under renewed internal and external pressure. For businesses to remain efficient and agile, decision-making must be delegated, and good, informed decisions must be implemented at the lowest possible level within the company. The DTMS diploma courses, offer participants a complete business perspective into the core areas necessary for personal and business success. The programme covers the following:

  • Telecommunications networks
  • ICT policy and regulation
  • Telecommunications business strategy
  • Project management
  • Business continuity planning
  • Human resources management
  • Marketing and customer relations management
  • Financial management.

Developed in partnership with BSNL, India’s largest fixed network operator, the course will take place at the Advanced Level Telecommunication Training Centre near New Delhi, India. This training facility offers state of the art learning facilities and equipment, allowing participants a diverse range of valuable training.

Previous DTMS courses run in 2010 in South Africa, Ghana and Fiji were all met with a significant amount of  positive feedback; indicating a high demand for the skills and knowledge imparted on previous participants by the qualified experts.

These experts provided lectures, ongoing real time comprehensive case studies and business practices which allowed participants to cultivate their managerial and business skills, which will enable them to contribute to within their organisation and excel with their own personal goals. The course has also proven to be an excellent opportunity to establish key networking relationships between participants who have contributed to the knowledge sharing process in an extremely positive manner.

“As observed over the past four years of delivering the DTMS, participants have developed very strong bonds and shared information through the process of networking and learning.”  - Zain Khan Managing Consultant, Alliance Consulting Group.

The CTO will continue to offer further training in Telecommunications Management in 2011 with the development of several other DTMS courses in various regions across the commonwealth and beyond. These courses will aim to meet the demands of the ICT industry for training in business and management, increasing the competency, efficiency and effectiveness of further practitioners as telecommunications managers and leaders.
