Contracts, 3G, Support, Russia, CEE:  Yeniseytelecom, the largest telecoms company in Krasnoyarsk Krai, has launched high-speed data services within its IMT-MC 450 (CDMA 2000) network. Supporting the network upgrade was the Convergent Business Operations Support System (CBOSS)

Yeniseytelecom, by upgrading its network, has expanded its data offering beyond its GPRS- and EDGE-enabled 2.5G GSM capabilities. The company's IMT-MC 450 subscribers can now also enjoy high-speed Internet access and data services at speeds of up to 2.4Mb/s.

Rating and service control in both networks are provided by a CBOSS solution built on the company’s CBOSSbcc (Billing & Customer Care) system. It solution enables efficient 3G support, which in turn allowed Yeniseytelecom to switch to new technologies in minimum time and without any system update costs.

"Mobile high-speed data technologies dramatically enhance our service offerings, creating exciting new opportunities for innovation, which is in line with our goal to fully satisfy every need of our customers",said Vladimir Kostjuk, IT Director at Yeniseytelecom.

For more than eight years, Yeniseytelecom has been installing a wide range of CBOSS products. Over that period of time, Yeniseytelecom's IT infrastructure has the mobile operator to become a leading player in Krasnoyarsk Krai. Today, in fact, Yeniseytelecom is the largest telecommunications company in the region with over 40% market share and the largest customer base. Total subscriber base is 1.5 million. Just last year, market share increased by more than 42%.

A major challenge to any company in this region is the fact a solution such as the CBOSS end-to-end IT solution requires to be operated in an area one third of the EU or five times as large than France. * Yeniseytelecom is the largest mobile network operator in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Taymyr Autonomous Okrug, and the Republic of Khkassia. The company provides GSM 900/1800 services. In Krasnoyarsk Krai, Yeniseytelecom provides IMT-MC 450 (CDMA2000) services under the Wellcom brand. It owns 99.72% of Altaisvyaz JSC (a cellular company in Altai Krai and the Altai Republic with 43,000 subscribers) and 99% of Stack GSM (a cellular company in Kemerovo Oblast serving over 91,000 subscribers). Total subscriber base is about 1.5 million subscribers. Since March 1, 2006 Yeniseytelecom has been operating under the ETK brand. According to analysts Sotovik, Yeniseytelecom is one of Russia's top ten largest telecoms companies. Yeniseytelecom is fully-owned by Sibirtelecom, the largest telecommunications company in Siberia.
