OSS, 3G, CRM,
Macau: Comptel, an Operational Support System (OSS) software
vendor for convergent mediation, charging, provisioning and network inventory,
is supplying Macau’s CTM with provisioning and mediation solutions to support
3G services.
CTM is planning its 3G roll-out for later this year. In
addition to 3G expertise, CTM is extending its 2G deployment of the Comptel
Event Mediation solution to handle next generation mobile services.
With the planned 3G roll-out, CTM has to ensure it puts in
place all the right systems to be able to see to customers and services fast
and efficiently. It also needs to collect usage information to bill them
correctly. With new potential services emerging all the time, flexibility and
speed are now essential to ensure these processes are carried out to the
satisfaction of CTM and its customers.
The Comptel Provisioning Solution is designed to automate
user provisioning and service activation. With a single interface, it covers
the entire fulfilment workflow - from service order to start of billing. At
CTM, the Comptel Provisioning Solution will have interfaces with the CRM
system, Ericsson network, mobile banking and other provisioning gateways.
The Comptel Event Mediation Solution allows usages from
multiple sources to be collected and forwarded to billing and other systems. In
the context of CTM, the existing Comptel Event Mediation deployment will be
extended to collect usage from GPRS, SMS, MMS gateways as well as content
servers.
* CTM is a joint venture reflecting Macau’s present situation and
her immediate past. Cable & Wireless owns 51% of CTM, Portugal Telecom
International 28%, CITIC Pacific 20% and the Macau SAR Government 1%.
