Contracts, IP, NGN, Broadband, Kazakhstan, Asia-Pacific: Teledata Networks, has announced an US$8milion contract to deliver its BroadAccess Multiservice Access Gateways (MSAGs) to Kazakhtelecom, Kazakhstan’s Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier (ILEC).

The BroadAccess MSAGs now being supplied to Kazakhtelecom are optimised for supporting advanced Voice, Data and Video services over a pure Ethernet architecture. Any advanced IP-based service, as well as any future application, can be supported by the system through the simple insertion of a plug-in card.

Kazakhtelecom is using the BroadAccess systems to provide services to major cities such as Almaty, Astana, and Atyrau, which have been a part of Teledata Networks’ installed base since the year 2000, as well as to Petropavlovsk, Aktau, Pavlodar, Ural'sk and Temirtau, which are new arenas for the company’s activities.

BroadAccess is an advanced Multiservice Access Gateway (MSAG). Through simultaneous support of multiple network technologies BroadAccess enables service providers to smoothly migrate their network to NGN in the most cost-effective way, while utilising the existing infrastructure to best advantage.

The system’s architecture is ideal for providing a full Triple Play service suite. It is highly flexible, supporting any mix of services from basic telephony to IPTV, a variety of applications and multi-vendor compatibility to suit customer needs. BroadAccess also offers a diverse selection of compact, cost-effective indoor and outdoor cabinets. The housing solutions are highly modular, and customised solutions can be tailored to specific customer requirements.
