Nokia wins radio/core network deal with Bulgarian operator Vivatel PDF Print E-mail

GSM, Mobile, Bulgaria, CEE: Nokia has won its first network deal with Bulgarian operator Vivatel.

Viviatel is now preparing for 3G operations, and will be aided by the GSM/EDGE/WCDMA 3G/HSDPA radio network and 3G core network included in the contract.

Nokia will supply Vivatel with its Flexi WCDMA base stations and cellular transmission, while also becoming Vivatel's sole 3G core network supplier. Other aspects of the deal will take in Nokia IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), Nokia Flexi Intelligent Service Node (ISN) and Nokia MSC Server mobile softswitch.

The network will be supported by the multi-vendor Nokia NetAct network and service management system. Deliveries have already started. In this initial stage of the project Nokia will operate the network.
