News: Customer Management, Billing, Croatia, CEE: Croatia moved quickly when it deregulated its telecoms market. Key player Metronet Telekomunikacije dd was founded in May 2005 and has the advantage of deploying its own 100% fibre optic network infrastructure.

This in turn placed enormous pressure for the related customer-related functions to be implemented at almost breakneck speed.

Convergys Corporation believed it was equal to the specification of providing product, consulting, and professional services to implement and integrate a new billing solution to support Metronet, especially when set against the demands of complex triple play billing, a speedy timetable for introducing new services, and rapid customer growth in a newly deregulated telecom market. In just five months, a Convergys solution has gone live, a far quicker timescale than might normally be expected.

Infinys, Convergys’ convergent business support system software, was integrated with Metronet's order management and customer relationship management systems using Infinys’ public application programme interfaces. In addition to implementing Infinys, Convergys configured and developed a bill post-processor to serve as an interface process from bill generation to bill fulfilment.

Convergys believes it has enabled Metronet to enter the burgeoning deregulated telecom market in Croatia quickly and to rapidly gain market share. “As an aggressive new competitor in the triple play arena, we know the importance of speed to market and simplified billing for a complex bundled triple play offering," said Dennis Rukavina, CFO at Metronet. "We made a strategic commitment in selecting Convergys.”

* Metronet Telecommunications dd was founded in May 2005, and has developed a new generation of telecommunications networks and services in the main metropolitan areas of Croatia. It is made up of more than 100 highly trained and experienced telecommunications experts.
