Products, Cabling, Global: New jumper cable caps from Radio Frequency Systems (RFS) are claimed to offer improved RF connection between main feeders and antennas or system equipment.

RFS stresses the elimination of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) components and the implementation of a new form of cable-to-connector union as the means to deliver what the company calls superior fire performance and the next step in jumper cable evolution.

The moulded PVC caps used in conventional jumper cables to provide mechanical support between the cable and connector have been replaced by a new connector design that allows the direct coupling of the cable and end-connector. According to RFS Director Business Development Transmission Lines, Gerhard Wunder, the new jumper cables have been optimised to provide improved electrical performance, while ensuring the jumper assembly is flame-retardant from end-to-end. Maintaining an IP68 enclosure rating and available in a variety of connector types and jumper lengths, RFS' “premium” jumper range is intended to alleviate stress on the antenna connector and to enable flexibility in antenna azimuth and tilt adjustments.
