Arab Advisors survey of GSM in Morocco ready next month PDF Print E-mail

GSM, Morocco, MENA: The Arab Advisors Group is now completing its multi-client major survey of individual GSM users in Morocco.

With a sample size of 700 respondents, the Group has a 99% confidence level with a 5% margin of error. Survey field work will end by May 5, 2006, and the final report will be ready early next month. It will be available for Arab Advisors Group subscribers at US$ 3,500; non-subscribers can order the report for US$ 4,500.

In greater detail, the survey will be conducted through face-to-face interviews and will cover 700 individuals from different households in Grand Casablanca ( 22%), Rabat/Sale' (15%), Marrakech (19%), Agadir (18.5%), Tanger/Tetouan (15%) and Fass (10.5%). It will include close to 150 detailed questions that address several crucial matters, eg:

  • perceptions of Maroc Telecom's and Meditel's services and offers;

  • level of satisfaction with Maroc Telecom and Meditel;

  • propensity to switch to a third cellular operator when one is available in Morocco;

  • handset choices and brands;

  • features and technologies supported by handsets;

  • handset replacement cycles;

  • use of SMS and value-added services;

  • voice usage levels;

  • types of packages subscribed to;

  • effective media channels for consumer choices;

  • mobile usage patterns;

  • Internet usage habits and patterns (including most used search engines, email websites, downloads, etc...);

  • TV viewing and radio listening habits and patterns;

  • most watched satellite channels (including music, general entertainment, sports, and religious);

  • perceived trustworthiness of news channels (including Al Jazeera, Al Arabiya, Al Hurra, CNN, EuroNews, among others); and
  • Pay-TV viewership (including ART, Orbit, and Showtime).

The responses will be statistically analysed and cross-tabulated in the survey report. The analysis will also include Arab Advisors Group's insights and expertise on the Moroccan market.
