Contracts, Mobile, TV, Indonesia, Asia-Pacific: Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) will be delivering its largest-ever Digital Video Broadcast-Handheld (DVB-H) agreement in a contract with Global Mediacom designed to being a mobile TV network to Indonesia. The contract timetable looks towards the end of June this year as the deadline for broadcasting.

Global Mediacom stresses that it is the largest and only integrated media, broadcasting, entertainment and telecoms group in Indonesia. This is obviously one of the reasons why the contract will constitute NSN's largest in the field of DVB-H.

NSN will provide consulting to maximise Global Mediacom's ability to reach and deliver compelling content to early adopters of broadcast mobile TV. The local NSN Indonesia will be responsible for the end-to-end systems and services, which will include consulting, implementation of the entire broadcasting solution and network, systems integration and the relevant business applications.

Global Mediacom is also in discussions with Nokia for Nokia to provide DVB-H integrated devices such as the Nokia N77, and to work with NSN on joint marketing activities to ensure service adoption by Indonesian consumers.

* DVB-H technology enables TV services normally watched at home to be broadcast to a mobile device. It is claimed to provide a superior end-user experience in the mobile environment with high picture quality and low battery consumption.

** Global Mediacom is the largest and the only integrated media, broadcasting, entertainment and telecommunication group in Indonesia with operations that encompass content production, content distribution, television and radio broadcasting, newspaper, magazine, tabloids, telecoms operations, mobile content aggregation, value added services, and IT system integration.
