Business, Consulting, Networks, Africa: There is widespread shortage of high capacity connectivity in all segments of the African continent, limiting data and voice transfers and hampering the economic benefits derived from new technology applications. A new consulting service based in Africa aims to address these issues.

The company, JC Broadband supports the bridging of the digital divide by providing network design and consulting to African telecommunication operators and other service providers. The company provides network design for long haul fibre networks (city to city), metropolitan networks, access networks - including fiber to the premises - and premises networks.

The company also has experience with all types of fibre used in terrestrial networks which include standard single mode fibre (ITU-T G.652), non-zero dispersion shifted fibre (ITU-T G.655 and G.656) and multimode fibre (ITU-T G.651). Other services include feasibility studies and specification preparation for bids and RFPs.

The approach has been developed through extensive technical expertise and significant real-world experience. More importantly, the company believes its African roots gives it an additional passion to transform African economies. JC Broadband will be participating at ICT Africa in Addis Ababa in February 2008.
