News, Awards, Telecoms, Global: Huawei, one of the largest network infrastructure suppliers to developing markets, has just swept three Global Telecom Business (GTB) Innovation Awards. Huawei was recognised for its outstanding performance in KPN’s All-IP project (winning the end-to-end network transformation award), BT’s 21CN pilot project (scooping the core network transformation award), and PCCW’s Mobile TV launch (carrying off the mobile TV award).
The Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards took place this year for the first time. All award winners were chosen by a panel of judges tasked with honoring some of the most innovative work shaping the global telecommunications industry.
Alan Burkitt-Gray, who edits Global Telecoms Business, presented the awards, declaring: "Throughout the world you are creating such a wave, such a flood of innovation that is making a real difference to business, to our economy and to the way we live…The telecoms industry is helping people become self-sufficient, helping them feed themselves and to develop economically. We should all be proud of that. That’s why we in Global Telecoms Business have decided to hold these Innovation Awards. We wanted to say congratulations to the men and women in the industry - operators and vendors alike - who are making such a difference to the world."
