Whatever its state of technological advancement, any telecoms market is in the end subject to its customers’ preferences. In turn customers can be turned into loyal customers by effective customer management and error-free billing systems. Developing Telecoms looks at some recent individual successes, notably where customer-related functions had to be up-and-running in a very short time (Croatia), where a market was expanding exceptionally quickly (Nigeria), and where an emerging market really was new to modern conditions (Russia).
