Corporate, global: American Power Conversion (APC) has completed the acquisition of privately-held NetBotz, a provider of IP-based environmental and video monitoring solutions, for US$31 million in cash.

Global, Wireless:  More than half of Huawei’s revenue this year has come from its sales of wireless products. From being, in Huawei’s words: “just a mere participant in the field of wireless” the company has now become a worldwide leader, deploying its products in more than 50 countries.

3G, Network Solutions, R&D, China:  Nokia (www.nokia.com) and China Putian (www.china-putian.com) have recently signed an agreement to set up a joint venture in 2006 to focus on R&D, manufacturing and sales of 3G network solutions for TD-SCDMA and WCDMA technologies.

VSAT Satellite Telephony, Middle-East:  Using its teleport facility in Dubai, UAE, as a hub for operations, Samacom is linking with satellite communication services provider Globecomm to open up a new Middle East service operation.

Finance, Global, PR China:   Huawei has posted sales of USD2.47 billion for the first six months of 2005. The total means that over 60% of the company’s sales are outside China and that last year’s figures have been overtaken by 85%.
