Ashbury Satcom moves in with Iridium and Inmarsat

Ashbury Satcom of South Africa has been appointed an official service provider for Stratos Global, the world’s largest distribution partner for the Inmarsat and Iridium satellite networks.

The company, which launched earlier this year, has spent the last three months bedding down systems and finalising supply arrangements. In addition to the Inmarsat and Iridium partnerships Ashbury are also a service provider for Carrier2Carrier Telecom NV, a VSAT satellite earth station operator in Europe. Carrier2Carrier Telecom are the first independent teleport on the European continent to provide alternative international and satellite based voice, data, VPN, broadcasting and internet service solutions.

Ashbury Satcom delivers service across the African continent using local skills and industry experience to compete on a global basis. Customers include IT and telecommunications service providers as well as mining, construction, oil and gas, government and humanitarian organisations

The company recently strengthened its staff with the addition of two new directors, Michael Griffin and Alan Hooper, both of whom are experienced satellite industry experts.
